More T-storms

Should have talked to the weather briefer before I posted that last one. Thunderstorms are building within 25 miles of my planned route to North Bay, so scratch that. But tomorrow is supposed to be another beautiful day of weather. Now to find a hotel..

HI Bob - a great trip!

I'd suggest you stop at the smaller airports on the prairies on the way back. I flew across in a Piper 140 (hand proping all the way after starter quit) and we found at the small strips there'd be no sign of anyone but then a few minutes later someone who saw us coming in to land would drive up and ask us if we needed a ride to town or keys to the gas pump, or show us their homebuild etc. A nice change from the main airports but works only if you don't have a particular schedule to keep.
Have fun....

I haven't had a chance to read all your posts - we've been internetles for quite awhile - definitely spent some nights in the middle of nowhere...sounds like you're having fun...congratulations on being on your own for a bit...

Hi Cameron,
That was kind of our experience at Swift Current - a very nice strip, but looked absolutely abandoned. We didn't stay long enough to find out anymore, because we were in a hurry to get to Regina. We basically only stopped there so I could fulfill a stop for the CPL cross-country requirement. I'll definitely look into it on the way back.
